With a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Library Science, Lee Blahnik served the public sector as teacher, school librarian and school administrator. Prior to retirement in January 2001, Lee was Director of Media and Technology for Oshkosh Area School District, the 10th largest of Wisconsin's 421 school districts. In 1985, Lee temporarily left public education to join Wisconsin Public Television as Manager of Corporate Development, where he worked until the fall of 1989. Lee is a "Vietnam Era" military veteran, who proudly served as a U.S. Air Force medic; enlisting in the fall of 1966. Lee was stationed at Chanute AFB, Rantoul, IL from early 1967 through the fall of 1970 and was assigned to Chanute's Regional Base Hospital. Lee honorably separated from military service in 1970, having achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and appointment as NCOIC (Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge) of the hospital's nursery and delivery ward. This web site features Door County, WI and Blahnik family history. Also prominently featured is Lee's friend; author Robert Newton Peck. |
